Dissolving Forms. Installation view in Spazio CRAC, Castelnuovo Rangone (Italy). 2024.
Dissolving Forms is an exploration of the human figure and movement, captured through the dynamic act of drawing. This project delves into the interconnectedness of body, emotion, and motion, revealing how harmony can emerge from apparent chaos—like a choreography of forms governed by a hidden order. Each piece in the series is connected and derived from the first through a process of decalcomania, where the paper is pressed onto still-wet ink, forming new, interconnected figures. These fleeting bodies emerge on the white of the paper—reminiscent of fallen angels and mythological subjects. The group of drawings unfolds horizontally and in a movement from top to bottom, alluding to the constant evolution in the act of creation. While some pieces are inspired by familiar paintings, the focus lies in exploring the tension between balance and imbalance, presence and absence. Created using mixed media—including watercolors, pens, and watercolor pencils—each form maintains its own visual uniqueness while remaining connected by the creative process. The artist works on walls as if they were pages in a notebook, transcending the traditional limits of paper and canvas and embracing three-dimensional space. The figures are deliberately left unfinished, open to new meanings, as their interpretation is never fixed. Viewers are invited to find something personal within these dissolving forms, as their essence encourages individual perspectives.
